Captain Planet was a superhero who could be summoned by five teenager helpers known as the Planeteers. Together, the quintet of Planeteers would attempt to prevent environmental disasters and educate others about environmental responsibility.

Each of the Planeteers had a ring with special powers which helped them accomplish their missions but when they needed extra help they could call on Captain Planet by combining the power of the five rings (earth, wind, fire, water and heart).

The theme tune went something like: #Captain Planet, he's a hero, gonna take pollution down to zero!#

    "Hes the one to pull assunder bad guys who like to loot and plunder" What a cheesy show one of the the bad guys was actually called "Lootun Plunder" Gaya the spirit of the earth guided the planeteers much like ziggy in qauntum leap or synergy in jem and the holograms.The planeteers were called Kuomi(earth) wheeler(fire)Linka(water)and montit (heart) but i cant remember what the asian water girl was called
