Business Game

This game actually had the title in French (something like Jue D'Affair) although I can't spell it; the English title was down the side of the box. It was a very good game for 2-6 players. Each player had 'X' amount of starting money, a base of operations towards the edge of a two section fold-out 2-d board (total size about 50% larger than a Monopoly board if I remember rightly), and one plastic 'mining derrick' at this base. The object was to transport your mined stock to a sales location for cash, the winner being the first to accrue £1,000,000 (or was it dollars?). There were three possible methods of transport each with a different route, any combination of which was allowed: by road using lorries (which were quick but could only carry small loads of stock), by canal in barges (which could carry a greater load but was slower than travel by road); and by ship which was the slowest transport but which could carry the largest load. Ship cargo had to be delivered either by barge or lorry. There were cards that had to be drawn during the game that represented hazards and mishaps such as a storm that would sink your ship or a drivers' strike that would prevent transport by lorry. I can't remember how these cards came into play i.e. whether by landing on a certain square or according the dice roll. For such a simple premiss it was a very enjoyable game.
