I remember my brother and i got treated to one of these each, to keep us quiet, during the six-hour drive down to Cornwall for our anual summer holiday. That was until i left the set on the back of my dad's brand-new Datsun Sunny parcel shelf during the entire heatwave of the summer of 1977. The set had contained wax crayons and wipe-clean boards, and the entire pack of crayons melted into a beautiful rainbow puddle over the entire shelf. I thought it was really pretty, but he was not amused and had to wait until it had cooled down enough to remove in one large sheet of wax. That was the last Remus play kit i ever got!

    I loved Remus play kits as a child and as a child I was lucky enough to model for them and was on the box top for a jigsaw and also did the height chart. Unfortunately I don't have any of these pictures and am trying to locate them. Any help much appreciated :0)

    I called these sets 'Uncle Remus' when I was little. We ended up with a job lot of Remus kits somehow and I did endless colouring. I still remember how the crayons smelled!
