This was a kiddie's show constructed to inspire kids to take up hobbies/interests and it featured several of these in each show. It had a very original format, if a little bizarre, as it involved the young male presenter cross-dressing as an angry camp old lady! He toured around England on his bicycle which was towing a minature pink caravan, which was shorter than his bike (it gets worse!).

The show usually began with the presenter sitting inside this 'caravan', which was very Tardis-esque! He'd be having his breakfast and telling the viewers where he was off to and what he'd be doing. All the while, hot on his trail was his female alter-ego who had a grudge against him and his pink caravan!

It didn't get a second series... wonder why.

    I remember this being on BBC South usually as a final segment of the regional news programme 'South Today'. I'm not sure whether other versions of the show were broadcast in other BBC regions. The presenter's name was Chris. The elderly lady mentioned by an earlier poster was supposed to be Chris' fictional auntie. She would often puff out her cheeks and shake them violently from side to side when annoyed. There was also another character, again played by Chris, called 'Kid Nasty', the show's villian. Occasionally a faked tv station, centred on the town of Swanage, and known as 'Swanage TV' would also feature. Apart from the pink caravan, this is all I can remember of the show.

    Your wrong - very wrong ‘Hey Look’ ran for many years both locally and on the network during the 70’s and 80’s. You obviously didn’t get it the idea thousand of kids and adults at the time did!

      Yes, it ran for 8 years and was hugely popular. My dad (Patrick Taggart) was the producer and director of the show. He created a go-kart derby, monster costume competitons and gave kids a sense of pride in their hobbies and talents. Rory Bremner was on Hey Look as a child!

        Hi Racvcake. I have a friend who was interviewed on the show with her brother in 1978 here in Adelaide South Australia. Do you think there is any chance that footage survived? Do you think any episode scripts, cast/guest lists etc survive from the 70's series? It would be great to find something with her name on it or footage even. You see we never got that show here in SA so she and her brother never got to see it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
