Cor!! Annual

Every Christmas I got the new Cor Annual, just as others would get the Beano or Dandy. Characters such as Ivor Lott and Tony Broke, amongst others, whose names escape me now. It cracked me up every Christmas.

Don't remember Cor!! - must have been before my time - but I do fondly remember Ivor Lott and Tony Broke and was talking about them last night, funnily enough! I thought no one remembered them except me! When I read about them - and their girlfriends, Milly O'Naire and Penny Less - they were in Whizzer and Chips.

For those unfamiliar, it was a rich kid/poor kid thing where Ivor and Milly had everything but always ended up blowing it for themselves when their parents found out how much money they were spending. E.g. Tony is sent out to buy bin liners - Ivor has bought an ocean-going liner. But ends up crashing it. The poor and virtuous kids win through every time. Just like in real life.
