Merlin's Brew

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Does anyone remember Merlin's Brew ice lollies from the 70s? It was a mint-flavoured, chocolate ice-cream lolly with a wizard on the wrapper. I think they cost 9p! They were popular at the same time as Nobbly Bobbly ice creams and was made by Lyon's Maid (well who else?!).

Ha ha! I was talking about these with my husband a couple of weeks ago. They used to be a Sunday afternoon treat- going to the park and buying one from the cricket pavillion shop. Those were the days...

Loving the fact that I'm not alone. I've been watching Merlin on BBC 1 and think of these all the time!

Whenever I went to my grannys, I would go round the corner shop and buy one. I never found them in any other shop near me, only in that shop. They were lush.

Ooooooo I remember them! They were 6p when I was a kid-I would buy them every week in the summer. They would go all creamy when they melted and that lovely choccy mint taste! YUM!!
