Highland Toffee Bars

Highland Toffee Bars were flat toffee chews with a picture of a cow on a white package with green tartan ends. They were the stickiest, chewiest toffee for kids in the 70's and early 80's and I used to buy them from the pub (who remembers when pubs had their own off licence sales?) for about 2p!

I lost many a filling as a kid because of Highland Toffee bars. Worth it though!

You can still buy these. I saw them in Home Bargains in Sheffield just the other day. I remember them as being very hard work, and a bit 'floury' on the outside. The wrapper usually got stuck to the bar too. I might have to buy one to see if they have ironed out that wee problem.
