Pop-up Pirate

Pop up Pirate was a clever little change on Buckaroo (a legend in the board game world). You had a little fat pirate who sat in a barrel and you had to stab the barrel with little plastic swords. The unlucky loser was the person whose sword shot the chubby little aqua based thief into the air. Surely he had better things to do like rob, kill, shoot cannons, bury treasure and ravish natives than sit in a barrel and wait to be shot into the air by some 8 yr old kid?

I agree Jacamanda. I hated playing this too. Wouldn't have been so bad, but the pirate was made of really heavy plastic so it would always really hurt!

I remember this, and I used to hate playing this! Not because I didn't like the game, but because I really didn't want that pirate to pop out! Very often it used to fall onto our heads!

Pop-up Pirate was a barrel with slits in you pushed the pirate down and had to insert plastic swords in. there were 4 different colours 1 colour for each player. the idea was to carefully place the sword in so the pirate didnt pop up.
