Global Hypercolor T-Shirts

Global Hypercolor T-Shirts were the "tie-dye" type t-shirts that changed colour with heat? These were great! Well, at least, we thought so at the time... until we noticed how they sometimes showed up how badly people were sweating!

I used to want a Global Hypercolour T-Shirts for ages and was so happy when my mum finally agreed to get me one!

I begged my mum for months until one day she gave in and took me the C&A in town to buy me one :-)

I had a free one with 'Pot Noodle' written across it.

My cousins used to have these when they were stinky sweaty teenagers. They thought they looked cool.

Back in the first half of 1992, whilst I was at university, another student on my course had a Global Hypercolor T-shirt that changed from purple to blue.

I think there where shorts too, can't think they'd have been popular, just think where you'd change colour in those!!

These t-shirts came in bright colours, and said 'Hypercolor' across the front. If you put something cold/hot on it, it would change color. If you breathe on it or sat in the sun it would too. I think they usually looked sort of tye-dyed.

I was about 11 or 12 when they were popular and I had 2, including one which was divided into squares (blue and orange as I remember). I had to go to The Czech Republic for a wedding in 1992 and wore mine all the time over there. I thought I was so cool. I don't think colour changing t-shirts had caught on at that point in eastern europe's history, being that they had only chucked out communism a year or 2 before.

I was pretty young when they came out and my Granny (bless !) bought me one as a present. It was a blue gray colour, but turned a vile peach colour when it heated up. Still, I did love it though !

i had a few global hyper color t-shirts which were great at rave scenes, a few years later glo by global had t-shirts which glowed in the dark which were better than hyper color. i still have one to remind me of the raving 80's.i can remember wearing it at the KLF concert i went to at the time.(the white room)
