Monster Munch

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Monster Munch are still available in UK but are considered nostalgic by many! They are basically corn crunch puffs shaped like a small doughnut with a three pronged crown! I think they're meant to be claws or something. They are available in Pickled Onion (my favourite) and Beef flavours.

I loved Monster Munch and all crisps in the 1980's and I still do - I still buy Monster Munch and the ones called Skips (sometimes called by other names, not Skips). Great to see them still going, and I am glad it is not just me having 80's nostalgia attacks, not that I was any happier then than I am now, but I was a child and teenager in the 1980's and I wish I could go back in time. Long live this lovely website!! And I bought Michael A Johnson's book, A 1980s Childhood, which is what brought me to this website.

I absolutely loved the saucy tomato and prawn cocktail flavours, I wish they would bring these back instead of the flaming hot ones as these are so dire taste wise!

Beef flavour good,Pickled onion good, but after having a packet of bacon on my way home from school the tast stayed in my mouth for the rest of the day and have not had any since. I think they replaced bacon with flaming hot flavour.

Long live Monster Munch! Used to eat them by the bucket load when I was young.Problem is,I've started eating them by bucket load again!! Smith's Crisps used to make them not far from where I lived in Swansea! Would like to see the 'saucy' flavour brought back though.

Well, I finally found some of the old MM. Definitely the same flavour as they used to be, much better than the regular ones they sell now. The texture I'm not sure about though. I say they're not the same as they used to be they're pretty much the same as the regular ones are now, like Enviroman says "they are to airated now with lots of air holes". My wife thinks the texture is how they use to be. Who's right? I don't know. That's the problem with one's memories of bygone things, it's not always accurate.
