American soul singer born in 1944 in Florida was most known for his no. 1 UK hit single "Rock Your Baby", released in 1974.

He was also responsible for the release of 2 other top 10 singles "I Can't Leave You Alone" and "It's Been So Long" & also contributed to the vocals to KC and the Sunshine Band's hit "Queen of Clubs".
