LaDonna Adrian Gaines (Real name) was born in Boston, Massachusetts on New Years Eve in 1948 and was one of 7 children.

Well known for her 1970's 'Disco' music with hits to include:

'Hot Stuff'
'Bad Girls'
'No More Tears' (Enough is Enough)
'On the Radio'
'Love's Unkind'
'Love to Love you Baby'
'I feel Love'

Donna was linked to the Film 'Flashdance' by releasing the soundtrack 'Romeo'.

I think that 'I Feel Love' came out towards the end of '82 rather than being '70s.
Summer was once quoted as saying that gays were disgusting, and that AIDS was God's revenge on them- nasty. Gay duo The Communards retaliated by doing a cover version of 'I Feel Love', which did very well in the British charts! I think that she was later forced to issue an apology by her record company, but to even think such a thing in the first place is vile.
