Billie first burst onto the scene with her "POP!" adverts for teen music magazine, Smash Hits. At the age of 15, she started her singing career and her debut single 'Because We Want To!' quickly shot to number one. Widely praised for her recent acting work as Rose Tyler on Doctor Who, Billie's music career never really got very much positive press!

    Couldn't stand her music, but she's a very competent actress. Before her acting career took off, she was stalked by an aggressive deranged fan who threatened to cut her head off, and this really traumatised her. The culprit, a black woman, was sent to a mental hospital, but it was months before Billie felt safe again. Thumbs DOWN though to Billie for smoking when she was pregnant....

    I like her as a singer, but "Because We Want To" was never one of my favorites.

    I think you either loved Billie Piper or you absolutely hated her as a music artist. I actually think she did pretty OK for herself, and she had some great singles like "Day and Night" and "Something Deep Inside". But in many ways I do actually prefer her now as an actress. My friend saw her do a play in the West End two years ago called Treats (incidentally enough, she co-starred alongside her future husband, Lawrence Fox). Thumbs up for Billie from me.
