Questron

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Questron was an electronic pen that was designed to promote learning for children. The pen was battery operated and had a red and green LED. Red for a wrong answer and green for a correct one. The pen was used with a book that contained pages of puzzles, questions, etc.

I loved this toy when I wa a child. It helped me learn how to read - before I even started school. My Dad bought it for me because I stunned him and my mum by reading the sign for it outloud in a shop! The power of advertising!

Wow! I am 20 and I still remember this very well. I had the grey / black stick version and this has 'brought it all back'. I still can't find any on Ebay and the associated sites..I would happily pay to get one of these back, with the books.

Oh, wow. I had no idea what this thing was actually called. I still have the "pen" (mine is red), which I recently found in a box mixed with other random things from my childhood. My 2-year-old daughter got a hold of it and that lasted about a day before I couldn't take the obnoxious sounds anymore and had to steal back when she wasn't looking. Hehe. How did my parents ever deal with that? Still, I remember having fun with this. As well as finding out which everyday objects were deemed "right" and "wrong" as the editor noted.

I went to a museum in Swansea which had a lot of these on display, which was about the only time I saw them outside the ads or a toyshop display.
