Toys TOYS

Oh Penny

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Matchbox made the Oh Penny range of toys which initially comprised a furnished dolls house with a family of five miniature people plus their pet cat and dog.

Later on Matchbox created more Oh Penny toys including a tree house, swimming pool, a barn and a creek to put around the house. The Oh Penny family also had a trailer for going on vacation!

I loved Oh Penny when I was little. I had the house, fun fair, tree house and pool, pink and white limo, gypsy caravan, farm house, parlour and the little extra's. I recently went to a car boot sale and found the Fun fair with all the parts in original box, I paid £5 for it was so over the moon. I am now looking to complete the collection. If anyone is selling oh penny toys please contact me on zoethomas1983@googlemail.com. Also does anyone remember the brown horse stable that popped open and had a white handle on the top so you could carry it around. It had a little room at the top and the bottom was stables for the horses, cant seem to find this set anywhere?

I had absolutely everything from the oh penny collection as a kid, even the limo and funfair which i remember none of my friends could get, as I grew up it got passed down and as an adult I always wanted to try and get it all again, especially when my daughter was born who is now 10, I went on a mission searching everywhere and eventually completed the collection again but it took years and cost 100's, I defo won't be letting it go anywhere, I found some parts through google searches but mainly on eBay by checking regularly for a long time, that's mainly where it'll be found so that's all u can do really, good luck to other searchers, it'll be well worth it in the end :)
