Holly Hobbie was a rag doll that was dressed like a prairie girl from the early 20th century. She usually wore a blue bonnet and a matching dress, and wore her brown hair in two braids. She seemed to be popular in the 70s and early 80s because I seemed to have plenty of Holly Hobbie stuff including two Holly Hobbie dolls (one being a smaller replica), a sewing maching, and a cash register. I think I might have even had a Holly Hobbie bed set.

Holly Hobbie was actually the name of the character's original writer and illustrator. Hollie Hobbie (the character) originally began life as a series of illustrations for American Greetings, however, following great sales on the cards Knickerbocker Toys licensed the Hollie Hobbie character for a line of rag dolls.

    I'm sorry but I detested Holly Hobbie, she always struck me as such a smug little goody two-shoes! Or maybe it was because all the prim, prissy little girls I knew when I was little always seemed to have Holly Hobbie everything up to and probably including toilet paper! I'm afraid my one and only tiny Holly Hobbie got tied to a steak and burned for a witch by my little brother, the Sid Philips of his day! I always did think that little madam would come to a bad end! :D

    I had a holly hobbie carboard playhouse. It was 4ft tall by 4ft in length. Awesome, I fought my mom as she gave it away to a christmas drive one year. As a side note, I just finally found my 1st baking oven by Peters Austin called Bake-o-matic. Cooked by a lightbulb. Needless to say, I am buying it.

    ii had a holly hobbie 'travel' house which coud be carried about. The front dropped down and there were characters and furniture in it. It REALLY was one of my favourite toys ever!!

    I still have my childhood babydoll highchair, wooden white and blue with Holly Hobbie catching a kitten in her apron as a young boy in the tree hands the kitten down. It is inscribed with the saying "Each new day is a special treat." I had so much enjoyment out of that piece growing up and could never part with it.

    Wow memories come flooding back. I had that house too and loved it. Stupidly gave it to my younger cousin when I thought I was too old for it and it got wrecked!! Would love to get my hands on another but can't find one anywhere

    my favourite childhood toy was a holly hobbie dome shaped house which was covered by her long skirt.I still have the small doll that used to stand proudly in a space at the top.

    I once had those blank posters that you got to colour in yourself, they came in a cardboard tube all rolled up...i had the hollie hobbie version

    My mom must have been obsessed with holly hobbie. When I was born in 76' she had my bedroom decorated with holly hobbies items...curtains,sheets,dolls etc.

    i had a holly hobbie school bag that had a pocket which contained a little doll so she came everywhere with me. I had got it for my 7th birthday and i havd still got the doll now somewhere in the loft.
