Kraftwerk

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

German instrumental group based around the synthesizer. One of their most famous songs was "AutoBahn" - a very long song with sounds of cars starting and acceleration. Mesmerizing tune. I've still got the tape.

True genuine pioneers of electronic music and the Influence behind many diverse acts, from Afrika Bambaata to O.M.D. ( Bambaata sampled Trans-Europe Express on Planet rock, O.M.D. named their 3rd LP Organisation after the group 2 of Kraftwerk were in pre-Kraftwerk). I still have all my Vinyl ( showing my age here) Kraftwerk stuff, all original and worth listen once in a while. A listen to my luminous 12" of 'neon lights' manages to create both an ambient aural and visual spectacle, with the lights down, of course..

Wasn't 'Autobahn' the theme tune to a fab kids' prog called "Out of Bounds" (about gymnastics)? Regret swapping my original 70s 12" for the 80s re-release (Toby, I feel cheated)!

I was aware of Kraftwerk from the late 70's. Got into them bigtime about 3 years ago. "The Chemical Brothers" put "TransEurope Express" in their Top 10. Saw it in on VH2 and bought the CD the next day. Love "Tour De France"....all versions!!
