KLF

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

KLF were a dance duo in the early 90s that had hits including "3am Eternal" and "Mu Mu Land" (with Tammy Wynette). I was obsessed with them at the time. I think their album was called "The White Room". I think they famously burnt a million quid a few years later in the name of art.

Yeah, they started out in '87 as 'The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu' (the name inspired from a secret society that appears in the sci-fi 'Illuminatus!' novel trilogy). In between the original band winding up and it's subsequent rebirth as The KLF, they enjoyed a brief incarnation as 'The Timelords', releasing a novelty record called 'Doctorin The Tardis' that sampled heavily from various glam rock hits. The video featured Jimmy Cauty's 1968 Ford Galaxie police car 'Ford Timelord'. They were involved in a number of legal wrangles with other bands due to their frequent heavy sampling of other people's hits, including being the subject of a lawsuit lodged against them by Abba.

'Mu Mu Land' is actually called 'Justified And Ancient', just so you know!
