Duran Duran
Duran Duran : Duran Duran were (IMHO) the best band of the 80's. Everyone fancied John Taylor but Simon was, by far, the best for me. One memory of DD is that of a sleep-over at my friends house. She'd set her radio-alarm for her early morning paper round and instead of some "voice" waking us up it was the opening line to "Please Please Tell Me Now!" What more could a girl ask for?

The original fiendishly difficult puzzle,
now with solution guide
The original fiendishly difficult puzzle, invented by Erno Rubik in Hungary and one of the biggest toy crazes ever. In 1982 Hawkin's Bazaar was the first to bring a few cases of the Rubik's Cube to England. Unfortunately 25 years ago we were very small and it wasn't long before a much larger company had the exclusive rights to distribute in the UK. We are very pleased to be offering it again! And now includes a new seven step solution guide.

About Hawkin's Bazaar
Hawkin's Bazaar has been providing you with unusual gifts, toys and gadgets since 1973. Originally a local toy shop at the Hawk Inn (hence the name), Hawkin's Bazaar now sells things you thought had gone forever and things you never even knew existed. I remember Culture Beat! They were great! The most popular song they released was called "Mr Vain" and I think it was in the charts for quite a long time. They also had songs called "Anything" and "Got To Get It". Culture Beat started out in 1989 and kept going until 2001.

That John Taylor was (is) the most beautiful man God made. My entire room was papered with his pics, so that you couldn't even see the wallpaper. My sister and I went to their concert in Cleveland on March 29,2005 and they were perfect (except they did not sing The Reflex) and Simon pointed at us and smiled... Dreams do come true! Duranie Forever!!!!

Why have pop artists/ bands that emerged in the '80s such a greater longevity than anybody before or since ( DD are the ringleaders in this regard ) ?

Duran Duran are up there with the Beatles and the Stones, A great British band that have stood the test of time,I was a late starter getting into DD,They had just released 'The Reflex' when I started getting into music, I was hooked from that song on, spending all my pocket money buying the old singles and albums and demanding the new stuff for Christmas, Birthday's etc...I am Actually a singer on the southern coast of Spain now and doing dance remixes for the European and American dance floors, we've just remixed 'Planet Earth' and hope that other hardened Duran Duran fans like it as much as I loved doing this cover. It's released on the Klone Records label in October 2007 on an album called 'Mad About The Boy 16'
