Corey Feldman

You probably don't remember Corey Feldman's first TV appearance, and to be honest, neither do I. Apparently it all began way back in the early seventies when three year old Feldman starred in a McDonalds television commercial beginning a career in front of the camera that would lead to him taking starring roles in some of the very best films of the 1980s.

Having appeared in numerous TV adverts in the 70s, Corey Feldman began taking minor roles in TV shows such as Mork and Mindy and Cheers, largely thanks to the promotional efforts of his manager / mother. It wasn't long before his cheeky grin was appearing on the silver screen in his movie debut Time After Time (1979) but it would take a few more years before he got his big breakthrough in the 1984 horror film Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

As a young teenager, Corey Feldman starred in some of the best films of the 1980s including Gremlins, The Goonies, Stand by Me, The Lost Boys and The 'Burbs. In 1987, Feldman was paired with Corey Haim, another talented teen actor, in the film the Lost Boys and this started a friendship and acting partnership that saw the pair co-star in a string of films including License to Drive (1988) and Dream a Little Dream (1989).

In the early nineties, Corey Feldman provided the voice for Donatello the turtle for the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film around the same time as he fought a public battle with drugs. Whilst Feldman managed to re-establish his life and career, his friend Corey Haim also fought a battle with drugs and but wasn't so successful spending most of his adult life as a drug addict, contributing to his early death aged just 38.

Corey Feldman famously became friends with Michael Jackson after starring in Gremlins, The Goonies and Stand by Me. Jacko befriended the young Feldman and acted as a mentor although some years later Feldman questioned the innocence and value of the relationship. Despite his concerns, Corey Feldman dedicated a concert with his rock band Truth Movement to the memory of the late Michael Jackson.

Despite being best known for his acting roles in the 1980s, Corey Feldman has continued his career well into the millennium as an actor, director, producer, musician and ice skater (Dancing on Ice).
