Billy Joel

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Billy Joel joined his first band at age 14 and produced his first album in 1968 whilst with "The Hassles".

Since then Billy has gone on to produce albums such as "Streetlife Serenade", "The Stranger" and "Glass Houses" and has been named by Columbia Records as their biggest-selling solo artist of the 20th century.

Billy Joel is a legend and a consumate performer. I first saw him in concert in 1984 and several times since then and he still makes these newer singer song writers seem poor in comparison. For a small man,he certainly fills a stage and gives you a show to remember!

Billy Joel is and has been for years one of my favorite singers. I did a report about him in high school in 2005, and everyone in the class thought I was weird for having him as my favorite instead of someone newer.

I've been a fan of Billy's since his first LP "Cold Spring Harbor" I've had the pleassure to see him in concert three times, including his tour with Elton John. It is a real same when great singer/song writters have to grow old and retire from the R & R era of thier youth. I wish he could kick his drug and alcohol problem and return to music. Maybe write for a up and coming artist. I own every thing he has on either, Cd, Lp or Cassette. I even own a disc from his early years in his two man band ATILLA. I also own the original Lp of "Cold Spring Harbor" that he claims was accidently mass produced for the first time at a slightly faster speed then it was originally recorded. It sounds a little different then the recording you can buy now on Cd. (FACT) This also happened to a solo Lp of John Lennons, "Rock & ROLL".

I was a junior in high school when "Movin' Out" came out, and I became a Billy Joel fan. I have all of his albums through "River of Dreams", 3 video tapes, and a few t-shirts. I saw him in concert 3 times, one of those was with Elton John. One of my favorite memories is when my new boyfriend (now my husband of 23 years)dedicated "I Love You Just the Way You Are" to me on the radio. Maybe that's why I married him....!

I've loved Billy Joel since he came out with My Life in 78/79. I was lucky enough to go to see him at Wembley Arena in 1988 for his Bridge tour. It was the best concert I`ve even been to and I've been to quite a few. I'm still a big fan of his, and have all his cassettes/CD's up to his 3 CD set of Billy Joels Greatest Hits volume 3.
