A hard rocking quartet from Australia, AC/DC developed a following soon after the band's formation in 1973 in their native country. After releasing albums such as TNT, High Voltage, and Powerage, AC/DC was almost shattered when lead singer Bon Scott died in 1980.

The followup album with new vocalist Brian Johnson, called Back In Black became one of the most enduring albums of the rock and roll era, and cemented their reputation as hard rock royalty.

They have not had as much commercial success in the 1990's and beyond, but still have one of the best live shows around.

    My sister was very into heavy rock when Bonn Scott died in February 1980, so I remember his death pretty well- he passed out after a night of heavy drinking at a London night-club called The Music Machine (now called KOKO), and was left to sleep it off in a Renault 5 owned by his friend Alistair Kinnear, parked outside Kinnear's flat in Dulwich. The following morning, Kinnear found that Scott had choked to death on his own vomit whilst left unattended in the car- he was only 34 years old. Brian Johnson replaced him in the band. My sister asked for a copy of the band's album 'If You Want Blood...' the previous Christmas. At the same time, my gay cousin was being sent a present of a calendar. There was a mix-up, which ended up with cousin getting the AC/DC album and Sis getting the calendar! LOL! What was even better though, was that my cousin actually LIKED the album, and was reluctant to give it back!!

    Never had the delight of see them with Bon Scott. First time I went to see them was on the Back In Black Tour around 80 or 81 time at the Victora Hall in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. It's not the largest of Venues to say the least. The surport act got booed, they also did at the Vic, then we had 10 minites to do what we needed to do, smoke, drink, fart, fight with each other. The place went pitch black without warning, the big bell droped in, and roof came off the joint, never forget that night, classic act.

    my first gig at 14 i saw them in december 1979 at the hammersmith odeon with bon scott supported by the troggs. i still have the free patch!

    i went and seen AC/DC at the secc in glasgow in 96 was fantastic . mates an i went to the pub be4 the concert an made some new mates who had been following the ball breaker tour all over the world . was high on adren for a week lol

    I went to see AC/DC at Wembley Arena when I was 17, about 1987. Picked up a bottle of vodka on the way to make it more "Rock 'n' Roll". Got kicked out before the band even came on for being drunk. What a pillock.

    AC/DC have been a big part of my life ever since I bought my first album (Powerage) on vinyl back in 1978. Since 1999 I also am the singer of an all Bon Scott tribute-band called Live/Wire. I think AC/DC has become more of a lifestyle to it's fans than just a "band" because of their ability to be just a band. no fuzz. rock n' roll music! Have a nice day! // Classe 8-)=
