I remember them having a "shoot-out" with those ketchup and brown sauce squeezy bottles you used to get in cafes.

'The Goodies' rocks. The Royal Jubilee episode was ( and still is ) a laugh riot! They were lucky not to be sent to The Tower!

It was the Eckythump episode which proved fatal. The man's widow sent the Goodies a letter thanking them for making her husband's last minutes so happy. There are currently three Goodies DVD's available. I'm waiting for Goodies Rule OK, where Britain was ruled by a puppet government; Sooty was Prime Minister.

I remember there was a story about a bloke who literally died laughing at an episode (I think it might have been 'The Jack and the Beanstalk' episode?) I can believe that, as I had a pretty good go at shuffling off the mortal coil in that fashion as well! Like the previous poster, I was age 10, the Goodies were pure liquid laughter gold (What about Eckythump!?) But for some reason, changing tastes of humour, adulthood etc, it doesn't do it for me anymore. Ah well...

Weren't they a kind of slapstick Monty Python ? I enjoyed them as a kid.

At age 10 I considered the Goodies to be the height of comedy. Bill Oddie was the short, bearded maniac, Graeme Garden the bespectacled scientist type and Tim Brooke-Taylor was the upperclass twit. It was mostly a half-hour show, but there were also several full-length movies. Each episode had a single storyline - for example, they answer a newspaper ad to do "a little light housekeeping" and discover too late that it's actually "a little lighthouse keeping" that lands them in a remote lighthouse in the middle of a storm.
