I remember Cuir de Russie (Russian Leather) from the 60s. It was an aftershave for men, I think, but had a lovely musky scent. Made by Chanel and Creed it was said to have been developed from some kind of saddlesoap used by Russian cossacks on their boots, or so I recall. Cuir de Russie came in a square glass bottle but it disappeared by the 70s.
